Title: New install of Mach3 eval. version not responding to Jog commands
Post by: akmolski on September 06, 2015, 08:50:12 PM
Hey there Newbee here,

I'm trying out the Mach3 evaluation version, but I'm having trouble getting started.  Installed the software and driver. Ran Drivertest.exe and there doesn't seem to be any problems there (excellent signal).

There is no machine connected yet.  The problems come in when I try to run the software itself.  I'm following the manual, trying simply to "dry run" the software. Hit the Reset button to ready the controller.

I am getting no response in the DROs when I try to Jog or use MDI (or Program screen) to move the spindle.

Is there a configuration step that I missed?  Does the EStop pin signal need to be set before Mach3 will let me "move" the spindle?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Really looking forward to start cutting things.

Thx in advance.

If the RESET is still flashing, after you press it, then you need to go into ports and pins and set the active state for E-Stop to the opposite it is now.

Thx for the quick reply. LEDs around the Reset button are not flashing.

Check that you have the axes enabled then, config menu, ports and pins, motor outputs. You have to have a green tick on each axis you wish to use.
If that does not solve the issue then please attach your xml.

Hey there!  Finally had a chance to check you're fixes and... it worked!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I had to enable the axes.   Spent ten hours or so configuring my machine this weekend. Everything is working great. Going to start cutting my projects this weekend. Thanks again =D
