Title: NOT CONTINUING WHERE LEFT OFF AFTER FEED HOLD
Post by: Cuemaker on August 22, 2015, 01:20:02 PM
After hitting space bar to hold and ck cutting, mach takes me off in different direction, instead of continue in sequence... causes major issues.....

If you are using a motion controller it may be a problem with that.

Not using motion controller.  Hit spacebar to hold, then alt r to continue and does not go back into program where  halted.  Have not investigated further, but will.  after the last time when i stupidly tried to resume, and messed up, I stopped rewound and restarted to keep from it happening..

Does Mach 3 pop up a window asking a question about where to restart? You need to answer NO in my experience.

I've had mach on a lot of machines and never had that one pop up. I'm grasping at straws but maybe your "look ahead" settings?

I DID CHANGE BRUSHES IN BOSCH COLT SINCE LAST INCIDENT.  THAT IS WHY I HAD HELD PROGRAM BECAUSE ROUTER WAS STARTING TO STALL.  MAYBE NOISE WAS BEING INTRODUCED INTO SYSTEM????

I don't know what it was doing last time. arc or not. I tried to start and stop yesterday 20 times in same program and it worked every time correctly. What happened is the a axis rotated back to 0 from where it was cutting, making a slot in the piece between home and the place it was cutting.. too bad that cutter was not up at the time. I stopped it and restarted program from home and recut without another incident and without looking at what command it was doing when I held to do the inspection and get router up to speed by tapping on the brushes.  I guess I will never find out exactly what happened, but it is 3rd time I have held (spacebar) program and had bad results over 5 years. I must remember to not do it!!!!!

Version .066 has known problems and shouldn't be used.  Try .062 or earlier and see if the problems stop.
