Title: ATC and tool length probing
Post by: makapan on July 12, 2015, 10:09:30 PM
Hi to you all,
This is my first post so please bear with me!
I have upgraded an old CNC Router fitted with an Automatic Tool Changer (ATC) - 8 x ER32 tool holders that rise out of the table through a trapdoor when a tool change is called for.
This is working well. The code is available if anyone needs it!
It is also fitted with a static/sprung loaded tool length probe. Also OK.
I am using a modified 2010 screenset with extra Buttons and LED's to control collet manual override, Vacuum holddown, Dust extraction and Table stops.

Now this is the question!.......

How can I automatically load the relevant tool length offsets into the tool table when I use Simple Auto Zero Macro ( or some other routine ) in the 2010.
This would only then be needed if a tool is replaced as the length offsets would remain and saved at shut down.
I assume that if I then change the post processor to call a tool change.

All should be well.
Thanks in advance
