Has anyone fitted mach to a 40 watt camtech laser cutter and was it successful.

Don't get me wrong I like Mach but it was much easier for me to use an AWC608. LaserCAD software came with it. You can pick up one at www.lightobject.com or check out the newer version. $385 AWC608 or $425 for a new one. You can purchase one direct on www.aliexpress.com definitely cheaper; you just have to wait a little. LaserCad is fairly easy to use and you deal primarily with image files.
How to hook one up...

Now if you are doing something exotic like laser sintering or more than three axis laser marking/cutting then go with Mach so you can generate or write your own gcode.

there is a addon in M4 Darwin for using a Lasers that works and it`s cheap about the same as AWC608 can be less

Thank you for your response's didn't realise there was quite so many options out there. Linux and mach both seem very difficult to get to work from what I have found. But these seem very easy I like it some research is needed.

Check out www.buildlog.net too ....LOTS of laser information available there.

I have gotten the one for M4 working it cost $100 to make the controller
