Title: router missing steps
Post by: Charlie_M on June 06, 2015, 07:14:36 AM
 Hello everyone,

Setup a Job in the router yesterday things started off good and then went terribly wrong.  I  watched it for a while and things were working as they should so I left it to do some yard work. came back and to my horror I have holes where should be no holes and profiles all over the place. So Somewhere along the way I started loosing steps . I am using a hobbycnc pro driver board and I am running the latest version of Mach3 with the 2010 screen set. any ideas where to start to trouble shoot this? I checked the mechanics of the router first  and all seems ok.  Thanks.

Charlie

Was the machine running fine before or is this the first time you've used it?

 Hi Gerry,

It seems that I have always had issues with missing steps. It was very small, until yesterday. I am talking it was off by a few inches.

What are your velocity and acceleration settings?

Ballscrew or rack and pinion?

I am using timing belt and pulley and my accel is 114 and  velocity is 119 in per minute

Set your accels to 15 and see if that helps.

Is it a direct drive pulley on a belt?

 Hi Gerry,

yes it is a direct drive pulley on a belt. its setup just like a Shapoko.
