Title: Tool Wear Modual
Post by: BR549 on May 30, 2015, 04:25:48 PM
I am working on a new tool wear tracking modual for Mach3 is there anything specific yous guys want/need in respect to that type of function ? It will use a modified tool table to hold all the values and have a visual mode when you select a tool it shows a picture of a tool representing the selected tool.  Each time a tool is selected it gives you a view of the tool AND the wear values such as Remaining tool life %.

Terry,
There are different grades of material for inserts, but not sure if an industry standard exists as most
manufacturers have different numbering or desigantions for the grade.

BUT.... thinking out loud......

Each tool is being tracked and if one uses a different insert / grade then that should be a different tool number and as such one could make it part of the tools descriptions.

Yes each tool is tracked as an independant item.
