Title: Hardware setup for smoothstepper, Isolation or not

Hi,

I've been acquiring parts to convert a LMS Hitorque 3990 to CNC.  I have an ESS that I would like to use with a small form factor PC that has no parallel port.  I've been reading about breakout boards and whether isolated inputs are required or not.  From what I gather, you don't really need isolation on your motor outputs but they're a good idea on your inputs.  I'm thinking of using a Keling KL-DB25 for my inputs and a PMDX-122 for my motor controls.  Is this a good idea or am I complicating the setup unnecessarily?
