Title: Here is the new GUI :) Lcam rev ->The Next One
Post by: Brian Barker on April 16, 2007, 10:13:40 PM
Here you are... a seek peek at what it is going to look like... it will tell you the extremes of any entity by selecting it from the tree menu . We need to change the Icon's and I have some rapid bugs :( But as you can see it is wrapping the tool path around a cylinder (Hard to see in the Views)...

So tell me what you think and please feel free to suggests at this point... We may not do it but we will read it!

Thanks
Brian

In addition to the nicer graphics and toolbars, itll load things we never could before. Seems pretty much all ACad files are good now as well.. Be an interesting year for LCam, its getting past puberty,
wont be long till its a babe magnet. :)

Looks very nice.

Is it possible to add dimension lines in the screen (where 0 is the origin) and in the left under corner the (X,Y,Z for mill and X,Z for turn) directionmarks (something like in autocad)?

Look's Good, Maybe you could toggle on and off a grid, and put in an X0.0 Y0.0, the same for Lathe, Could use a tool save for diameter of tools used and stored. Make it for a screen to display the whole screen, as LC.now,  is TOO big for the 1028x768 that I'm using now, Have to exit bottom initial pane to get the pocket button to revial the button. Otherwise Look's Good! Hank S.

The GUI is nearly done. We have sevel things to finsh up, but we're aiming for the same funcitons as the old LCam, but with better and easier selections
and setting of data. After we get it running, we'll be happy to look at suggestions for more routines as well as GUI updates to make things easier.

As your all aware, any major shift like this one is fraught with bug danger. We'll test as well as we can, but rather than hold it up, we'll get the basic
package out asap, so you can tell us how it works, or doesnt. We'll prioritise fixes to it. Your testing is why it will be relatively inexpensive at first.

SO far, its lookign good. I just hooked in new toolbars, message facillity, and only have to add new progress bars before I get Brian to complete the A axis
wrapping facility. Then we will release it after some preliminary testing of funtionallity. Hopefully, some day next week. It actually looks much better
now than the picture we showed you. Its very stable so far, and Ive been able to load all the DXF's that have been sent to me over time that
woudlnt load before. SO I suspect youll like the results.. If I can fit in text inputing, Ill add that too before release..

Thanks
Art
