Title: new to lazyturn, help!
Post by: stillcool40 on March 14, 2015, 08:33:01 AM
just starting with lazyturn to hopefully create gcode for my emco compact 5 cnc.

Am creating dxf files in Qcad which lazyturn happily loads and displays. can create tool paths and run the simulation. However i am totally failing to save the gcode, I use the PST button but the file is created empty. I have tried selecting the toolpath before using PST to no avail.

what am I doing wrong here?

regards

just to further explain, lazyturn does not appear to create the file with the name you set. after you click "save" notepad produces error "cant find file *********.tap create new?"

There is a Lazyturn Manual in Members Docs that you should review.

First you hit the Green PST button, then you hit the Post button in the lower right corner of the pop up Post Generator window (after entering any preperatory info if necessary). Then name the file and Save AS in the next pop up. Then SAVE and you will see the code.

Are you using Windows 7?
A folder you are saving to must have privilages. i don't use Win 7 , but did remember someone posting about Windows 7 quirks.

Here is the fix for it if you still have the problem of the blank Gcode file.

Works on windows 8 as well.
