Title: Good or bad stepper motor?

 I have finally got my machine working and cutting good. But there may be a problem with my motors.
140oz stepper 8 wire, Hobby cnc board.

At very low speeds you can here the motor turn its steps. Y axis seems louder that the X axis. The X gantry is built in steel but the Y is built in timber (main frame). I was thinking that is because ones set in timber and the others steel. So I removed the motors and held the to together on a board. Ran Mach3 then ran each motor at low speed. Doing about 20 rpm the vibration on one motor is twice as loud as the other.
Every thing is set the same for both motors.

Is this normal or do I have a doggy motor?
Cutting is fine at the moment.

Re-check motor wiring, swap motors around, Dose the motor in question still vibrate ?, Could also be the control board.

Hey Roger,
    Do your drives have tuning pots. My geckos do. Your are supposed to jog at 1/4 IPM and tune to the smoothest you can get at that.

I will try all this in a few days, but first the wife wants a room painted. Now the problems start.
I will also post this on hobby cnc forum. The board is a HOBBY CNC 4AUPC.
No tuning post.
