Title: Vfd settings
Post by: Bhohbein on February 23, 2015, 05:20:29 PM
Hey guys having a problem with my vfd. its a huanyang 110 volt 1.5 kw inverter. I know its chinese junk but its what i got.  my problem is that its oinly spinning at 11520 rpms as per the read out.  I found a couple posts about setting and changed my settings in the vfd but then it would not turn on.   Reset settings to what they were and is working again.  Has anyone seen this before.  Thanks for your help

Are you using the VFD front panel controls or Mach 3 for speed control? Make sure the max speed in the VFD is set for 24000 and the drive is setup and wired for 110V and not 220V. Sounds like it's running at 1/2 speed.

Also make sure the Hz is set correct for the motor and RPM.

Just a thought,(;-)TP

So, you don't have the manual ? ? or parameter list ? ?

I do have the manual but i cant understand it.  i changed the rated motor revolution to 24000 rpm and it reads 19200 now but i dont think its going that fast. It could be though

Is it paper ? or a PDF that you could attach ? or can you find it on-line and post a link ?

what is the model number on it? and how are you checking the RPM.... with a tachometer or from the vfd readout?

model number is hy01d511b.  Im reading rpm from vfd screen.  The vfd is working good enough for what im trying to do I just want it set up correctly so it works the best that it can and i dont burn the vfd or spindle out.  i want to set it up through mach 3 for sturning it on and off eventually. I have it mounted on the ceiling in my garage and i have to hit the run and stop button everytime i want to use the router haha

Set in the following order: PD005=400, PD004=400, PD003=400, PD144=3000

People should not buy VFD's if they don't understand how to set up and properly wire them. They are not plug and play devices. Huanyang drive are very low quality junk that don't (can't) meet UL or CE certification. They all lack RF suppression which makes them interfere with stepper electronics. You can buy a 1.5kw, 110V VFD's directly from Huanyang for $100. Most never run past a couple of months before self destructing.  Another trick 3rd party Chinese sellers do remove the drive data name plate and sell 1.5kw drives as 2.2kw units and prices. Good luck trying to get a replacement for a blown up drive.
