Title: Advanced Acceleration and Shape Control
Post by: andy_con on February 10, 2015, 07:58:16 AM
dear all,

I was reading this -

http://blog.cnccookbook.com/2014/12/16/10-features-pros-hobby-cnc-controllers-dont/?utm_source=CNCCookbook+Blog+Posts&utm_campaign=f3676d0d03-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_df8004b230-f3676d0d03-2420341

and point 5 got me thinking, is there no way in mach3/4 to improve accuracy with regards to this?

There are somethings in that article I disagree with.

as to your question SURE THERE IS. Properly engineer your machine in reguards to Accelleration . AND if you are running servos PROPERLY tune them for optimum accuracy AND acelleration.

Most hobby systems are not even close to being optimum on acelleration therefore they suffer performance and accuracy wise.

Second is requards to stiffness of design . The stiffer the better weak limpy sytems absorb motion energy therefore distort the true shape of what it being cut.

Just a thought, (;-) TP
