Title: M3 and Dwell doesn't alway work
Post by: P_D_B on February 08, 2015, 03:00:14 PM
This problem just started, M3 for spindle on will not actually turn on the spindle and the dwell will not initialize either.  I have tried uninstalling and installing mach again.  I tried removing the extra characters in the M3.mts file.  Am I at a point of a clean install of Windows to clear this up? I have broken a lot of small bits now.  At least a couple hundred worth since this began.

I was referring to money not bits with the couple hundred line.  What is weird is it will work fine, M3 will start the spindle and dwell for 10 sec for several calls.  Load another program and it will not even acknowledge it.  Then restart the computer or the Mach3 and it may work fine or it may not.  Any ideas?

Hi Pete,

Just a shot in the dark but I had a similar problem with the M3 last year. It turned out to be a corrupt .xml (although comparing the printouts of the old and new did not show any differences there was definitely something). Creating a new .xml from scratch solved the problem and everything has been fine since.
