Hello, I just upgraded to the latest Mach3 version (2.0.061) which fixed some problems cutting circles in the ZX plane, but now my backlash compensation is all screwy. It acts like the backlash is set to an inch when it is actually set to .001". I've turned on and off the backlash with different values, and restarted each time, none of it helps, except keeping it off.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks,
Stewart

Are you in CV (constant velocity) mode? If you are then turn it off for backlash comp to work.

I am in cv mode. Thanks! I'll try turning it off.

Well, I tried turning CV mode off, but it didn't make any difference. I had restarted the program after making the change, but did not re-boot. Any more thoughts?
Thanks,

When you start your G code file does your CV light stay off? Maybe the G code turns it on again.

The most stable version I have found for backlash and rotary milling is version 1.9X

Hi:
Actually, Backlash works in CV now as well. Set your config/general shuttle accel to .1 , see if that makes a difference. It will seem as if there is too much backlash, but thats only because backlash now ramps to zero before
applying backlash. Its now safe in all runs, but the setting of that accel will setermine how long it tales to ramp to zero.

I wounder if Art knows every trick about Mach3? Almost sounds like the software evolves by it self! What great software!!!!!!
Thanks Art, Brian and the rest!!
