I am very new to CNC forgive me if my terminology is not correct
I left my machine today for twenty minutes or so and my x axis went postal. It jogged all the way to the left and that is how i found it.
my left arrow key on my keyboard moves my X axis left as it is suppose to. and when I hit the right arrow key it moves to the left also.
In mach 3 program my arrow keys show normal working negative and positive in the display.
I swapped my cables on x and y axis to see if it was the motor, it was not.
I have not had any problem with my cnc machine until today, I have using it for two months now.
Can anyone help me trouble shoot this Problem. Running Mach 3, my G code was generated in Artcam,
Thanks...

When I had a problem like this it was because a wire had come adrift between the breakout board and a stepper driver, resulting in all pulses looking like left pulses. Check the wiring to the x driver very carefully.
