Post by: RGCustomSignsLLC on January 27, 2015, 03:24:25 PM
Years ago when i set my machine up i thought it was pretty accurate, but it appears my z access is off by .0181"  This isnt too big of a difference unless i am using 1/8inch material it is off.  I cant remember how I set up that screw / motor setting in software.  Can anyone assist?

thx!!

You can use the axis calibration feature in Mach. Settings (alt-6 tab) when the screen opens it's located above the reset button.
You will also want to check for backlash once the steps per unit are correct.

Backlash is non movement of the axis which is caused by a number of things.
Members docs, I think....... has thread on how to check for it.
