Title: setting zero doesn't touch work
Post by: renklaufs on January 09, 2015, 04:43:24 PM
Hi
I have recently developed a problem with my CNC machine, using Mach 3, when I zero the z axis on top of the workpiece and run the programme the z axis wont come down to touch the work.
the programme limits change to keep it from going down far enough. How can I cure this problem. I use V Carve Pro to generate the G code.
Thanks in advance

Attach your xml and your problematic G code.

Any help would be appreciated as everything was working fine until this job.

Looks like your code has Z10 as the surface of the material, maybe you set that as the surface in your CAM.
If you touch off the top of the material and instead of setting the Z zero you set it to 10 it should work.
Best to sort out in CAM however.

Sorted.
Looked at CAM and changed setup. Great to have another pair of eyes.
Thanks again.
