Title: Auto Square Gantry

Hey Guys,

Been reading ALLOT of posts about Auto Squareing the Gantry, but have been unable to find a solution
(some of the older links don't work any more)

My X has a Slave (B)
At present, when you Ref All Home, it does what it should
Homes Z
Homes Y
Homes X & B till 1 hits switch (B in my case)
Homes X

Is there a way that after homing, M3 moves X or B the appropriate offset?

(To "move" the switches for accurate home/square is almost impossible on my set-up)

At present, I switch-off the axis (each axis on own power supply), and moved the pre-determined distance, and then try to remember to switch the power back on
But means, I have to do this manual process each time I home :(

You probably need to edit your homing script to use RefCombination().
If you have one switch for each side, make sure Home Slave with Master in General Config is NOT checked.
You really have to move the switches for this to work properly. Mach3 does not have the ability to move the gantry to a square position by offsetting one side.

Well just a thought but after Reh home you could move the axis to offset it and then reset the machine coords to zero to square the axis.

NOT the best way but should work. Gerry Has the best solution to FIX the switches to square the gantry properly.

Sort of makes you wonder why you would use 2 switches then.
Ramming the gantry into the hard stop would be more accurate / repeatable method

Because each side homes to it's own switch, to square the gantry. The switches are what squares it. But you must accurately mount the switches.
