Title: SPINDLE CONTROL SETUP MACH 3 G540
Post by: woodturner170 on December 17, 2014, 05:22:54 PM
I AM SETTING UP A 4 AXIS WOOD ROUTER WHICH HAS A 1.5KW CHINESE SPINDLE POWERED BY A FULING DBZ312B001.5L2DK INVERTER. 220V AC INPUT. 220V 3 PHASE OUTPUT,
0 - 1000HZ.
THE ONLY FULING MANUAL I CAN FIND IS  FOR THE 200 SERIES HOWEVER ALL THE TERMINALS ARE THE SAME. EMAILS TO FULING FOR HELP HAVE BEEN IGNORED
I HAVE CONNECTED THE INVERTER TO THE G540 AS FOLLOWS
G540 VDF +10 V (PIN9)                 CONNECTS TO DBZ 10V TERMINAL
G540 VDF OUTPUT (PIN8)             CONNECTS TO DBZ A1 TERMINAL
G540 VDF GROUND (PIN 7)            CONNECTS TO DBZ ACM TERMINAL
THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF ITEMS ON THIS SUBJECT IN THE FORUM. READING ALL THE MANUALS AND THE THREADS HAS NOT HELPED ME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I NEED TO START/STOP AND CONTROL SPINDLE SPEED FROM MACH 3.
I HAVE THE ABILITY TO TURN ON THE POWER MANUALLY TO THE INVERTER AND SEE NO NEED FOR A RELAY FOR THIS PURPOSE.
IN SIMPLE TERMS WHAT OTHER CONNECTION DO I NEED TO START/STOP AND CONTROL THE SPINDLE FROM MACH 3. I AM NEW TO CNC AND HAVE LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF THE TERMINOLOGY USED. SPECIFIC CONNECTION INFORMATION TERMINAL TO TERMINAL WOULD BE APPRECIATED. IF I HAVE TO PURCHASE OTHER BOARDS TO MAKE THE SYSTEM WORK THEN THAT IS OK.
THE FINAL WIRING OF THE ROUTER HAS STOPPED DUE A BROKEN COLLAR BONE SO I DO NOT EXPECT TO RESUME UNTIL THE END OF JAN 15 SO THERE IS NO HURRY
REGARDS DAVID

I am in exactly the same situation as you are.  Which means I cannot really help.  I wired up my VFD to my controller and cannot get my motor to turn via Mach3 despite playing around with a lot of settings in Mach3.  I reprogrammed my VFD so I could control the motor via the VFD keypad and found the motor would only rotate at a slow speed when controlled via the key pad on the VFD.  When I unplugged the cable from the VFD to the controller the motor would now rotate at full speed.  My conclusion was that the wiring from the VFD to the controller was correct and something in the Mach3 settings was the problem.  Trying to solve these problems is like trying to look into a black hole - you cannot peer into the VFD or the controller to see where those signals are going astray.

Do a seach on google for the vfd. You should find a guy that wrote a macro/program that will control the vfd through mach3. Dont know if it works yet still waiting for a usb plugin. Got mine on ebay for a dollar.

Welcome to the world of junk Chinese parts and no tech support... I believe there is a jumper on the drive next to the terminal wiring block that has to be changed from 4-20ma to 0-10vdc input for external control. Also the drive has to be programmed for external speed reference control. A fast and easy way to test the drive speed control input is use a 9v battery connected to AI & ACM, the drive should ramp up close to max speed.
