Title: lazycam
Post by: houseboater1937 on April 02, 2007, 04:14:29 PM
I have just downloaded lazycam for the first time.  I am not a teckie but I can still figure most things out.  What I can't figure is how do you machine a face in milling leaving an island in the centre.  The only thing I can do is profile and only if I only take one cut.  If i want to take more than 1 cut do I have to put in extra lines around the profile.

Any help wopuld be appreciated

Thanks

Doug

Hi, Houseboater:

If I  read your questin correctly; There are two ways to leave an island.  Easiest is if you have paid for the Pro-version of LazyCam.  Then all you have to do is add an offset and key in different values for depth of cuts.  If you want a lot of space between your outer perimeter and the island, you could then select the pocketing function.

The other way, and this is the way I have done it before LazyPro. is to draw your dxf with an offset and then select different chains.  It is more difficult to leave a larger area using this metiod.

Hope I understood the question, and that this helps.
