Title: Start/Stop cycle button?
Post by: cncbobuk on November 13, 2014, 12:37:22 PM
I'm sure this has been asked before but can't find any reference to it so, can I connect push buttons to Mach 3 inputs and have them perform program start and stop/pause?

I'm guessing something to do with "system hotkeys" but need some help here please.

Many thanks.

There are a few ways to do this but the easiest and most direct is to use the OEM Triggers.
For example set OEM Trigger 1 to the port and pin number that you have the button connected to, then go to Config menu and System Hotkeys and enter the OEM code for the function you wish into the box at the side of OEM Trigger 1.
So for example Start is OEM code 1000, enter that and the button will act as a Start button.

Thanks Hood, I had assumed it must be fairly simple. Is there a list of OEM codes available somewhere or a way of determining them? as there a few other things I'd like to implement.

Cheers.

There is a thread at the top that contains a xls file with the OEM codes. There is also a list on the wiki if you prefer that.
