It would help if told us exactly which tool setup pad you have bought and how you are trying to set it up ??

Its a round pad with 2 wires, one goes to my breakout board and the other attached to the router bit. When I hit the button in mach it goes up but never comes back down

So it just a touch pad then.

What CB script do you have entered into your 'Auto Tool Zero' button ??

That's most likely to be your problem then.

Do a search for touch probe then choose one of the scripts posted which you think is best suited to your application.

Search box - top of main (Mach Forum) page.

If it's any help and to get you started you could use the scrip posted on my webpage here http://www.cooperman.talktalk.net/files/17.htm
