Title: Lost text when converting DXF to Gcode

I am trying to make an engraved ID plate using AutoCad97. The text has to be placed precisely and be in the Arial font. When I import the dxf file into Mach3 (registered version) the text dissapears. I searched the forum and found a post about using the EXPLODE command in autocad, but when I use this feature it converts the text back to the defualt AutoCad font.

Is there a way around this, or some other software I can use to create the ID plate with? The other option is to enter each line of text seperately with the proper start point to place the text where it needs to be. Thanks for any ideas or sugestions....

Have you looked at the wizard in Mach3 . There are about 10 different fonts available . One of them may be similar to Arial and you can place them
at any location and size.... Paul W

Most text from CAD programs can't be converted without exploding it first. AutoCAD won't let you explode it. Use something like Outline Art to create the text, save it as a .dxf, Open in AutoCAD and copy and paste it into your part drawing.
