Has anyone tried this card for adding a Parallel Port to a Laptop?
http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-ExpressCard-Serial-Parallel-EC1S1P55254/dp/B005F4WS2E/ (http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-ExpressCard-Serial-Parallel-EC1S1P55254/dp/B005F4WS2E/)
Still trying to figure out what BOB to get also...

I think the "gurus" on the forum don't recommend laptops at all for use with the PP regardless of adapter or card. They do seem to work OK with external motion controllers like the SmoothStepper and it's brethren.

It may work if it is a true parallel port rather than just an emulator. However as DICKYBIRD mentions Laptops are not recommended unless using an external controller. If it is a simple machine then you could get an external controller for not much more than the price of that port and results would be better. For example there is the PoKeys, http://www.poscope.com/PoKeys56U

FWIW, I couldn't get that card to work with Mach3 and my Lenovo T410 running Windows 7 32-bit. Even after specifying the resource addresses in Ports and Pins.
