when ever i am running my plasma table, sometimes the program will freeze and the plasma head will take of in one direction and ram into the side of the table. the only way to stop this is to shut the motion control box of and reset the computer. has anyone ran into a problem like this? if so what can i do to fix it?
Thank you,

Are you using the parallel port or an external controller?
In either case it sounds like a noise issue.

i am using a parallel port. i was told before that it could be noise and we have everything imaginable grounded, and there are no other electronic machines running near it to pick up any noise that i can tell.

would noise make the entire mach 3 program freeze up?

Noise can certainly crash a computer and it sounds like that is what is happening by your description.
Plasma torches are often noisy but the parallel port is actually quite noise immune so it is fairly unusual.
If you attach your xml I will have a check through it.
