Title: Repetitive accuracy shift
Post by: jglohr on June 09, 2014, 08:46:13 AM
Hi,

I have my mill set up with steppers and everything seems to be moving smoothly with no steps missed. When I calibrate the steps per unit, and run four test runs in a row, in the same direction, after every two runs it changes .005" (example: .100, .100, .105, .105, .110, .110 etc). It is very repetitive in this pattern and is present in all three axes. Any thoughts?

Please attach your xml.
Are the readings you mention true readings or Machs DRO readings?

Hi Hood,

It is the actual measurement, with a dial indicator. It is just very strange how repetitive the error is, yet only ever other test run. Thanks

Please attach your xml and I will see if I can find an issue in it.
