Title: Re: Steps Per setup
Post by: camarillojohn on June 07, 2014, 12:11:17 AM
Wood router with 3 Nema 23 made by Wantai Mototrs (China) breakout board dip switch setting is:
1off, 2 on, 3 off ,4 off, 5 off, 6 off, 7 on, 8 on
When calibrating the distance in "Settings" then "Steps per. I ask the X axis to move .100 it moves 0.025 than I am asked if I want to change the axis to 8000 (It was set @2000), if i accept the motor will stall (too fast).
Any suggestions how to fix this? thank you in advance.

I think you will want to go to Motor Tuning and change the Velocity setting with the slider on the right. Probably drag it down. Then test with the up and down arrow keys. Followed by I think it's called "Accept Changes".

Eureka, that took care of the problem. Obviously the machine sets the steps per to 8000 to get the right distance, all I had to change is the speed and velocity to make it work.
Its not the gun its the gunner....
Thank you much for your suggestion.
