Title: Spindle/Router Control from Mach 3 Config Screen
Post by: DMF on May 26, 2014, 09:06:16 PM
I have a wood router as the spindle. I would like to be able to turn on/off the router from the Mach 3 Config screen or keyboard when Gcode is not running.
I only have an outboard AC power switch now.
I think I can get the breakout board and Mach 3 output pins figured out for M3/4/5.
Is there a way to create a MPG or keyboard short cut to toggle the breakout board pin on/off?
And what hardware device do I purchase and install to interface between the logic voltage and 120 vac?

F5 turns the spindle on/off.

You need a relay for the output pin to switch the AC on/off.

Is F5 for spindle control documented in the User or Installation Guides?
Is there a list of all the built in keyboard shortcuts?

Not sure if it's documented, but it says F5 right on the Spindle button.
I think there's a list posted here somewhere, but you'll have to search for it. Possibly in the members docs area.

I guess since I wasn't using spindle control the CW F5 didn't register. Yes, it's there.
Thank you. :)
