Title: Answer about encoder and 4-th coord
Post by: BlrUsr on March 14, 2007, 09:59:48 AM
Please tell me why in "config->port and pins -> Encoder/MPG's"  exist ENCODER4 , but in settings I can't see Encoder Position 4-th coord?

Are you looking for the OEMcode for the 4th axis?

Use Number 100 - 103 for ABC axis

Thanks a lot

I add oem 100 - all ok, but while I rotate encoder - it's increment or decement without limitation at 360

I use à rotate A-axis, which I want to drive manual and monitor it on mach.

I use 1024-pulse encoder and 1.degree = 1024/360  = 2.844444...  pulses   and 1pulse=0.3515625 degree (doesn't metter)
I have Index signal on encoder, maybe I can use it? Such as "home" for A-axis

There is no homing to an encoder index at this time :( also we have never put in code to reset the count every 360... It is something that could be added but I think that will have to wait for quantum as we are trying to lock down Mach3 at this time.
