Title: drive test, mach3 and my router cnc don't work!
Post by: soanlu on January 24, 2014, 01:31:26 AM
hi,
I'm Andrea and i'm writing from Rome and i'm very sorry for my basical English :-)
I and  my father are making piece to piece a router and we would controll it with mach3.
For doing that I've downloaded the demo version from your website.

Now i have some problems to resolve.

The first one is the result of the drive test
I have installated the mach3 software on my laptop with the following characteristics:

but the result of the drive test i think is not ok:

the other problem is that I can't move the machine from my pc
I've connected also e-stop and limits but mach3 doesn't recognize them
there are these messages "need External stop" and "limits triggered"

i'm using the following controller

 ??? ??? ???

So nothing seems to work.

Please help me

Laptops are not officially supported by Artsoft (unless using an external controller)  for the reason that they are often problematic when using the parallel port. Having said that the actual graph doesnt look too bad but obviously the driver is seeing issues with its pulsing too fast essabe.
You could try going through some of the optimisation steps detailed in the document on thr ftp site.

Regarding the other computer, it could be something as simple as you have the wrong port assigned or wrong pins. The Chinese drivers are notorious for having poor and often wrong documentation.
