Title: Wizards OD arc help
Post by: Rimmel on January 20, 2014, 02:58:59 PM
I tried the OD arc wizard and it gives me an arc in G03 code. On my denford easiturn (front tooling) it's the opposite of what i want. Can you force the OD arc to use G02 instead of G03. I have searched by cant find anything.

thanks

Checked and the option was already ticked. So un-ticked it and the wizard code does not change (still using G03). However the path generation now looks like this:

The code itself will not change but the toolpath should show correctly.

Double check you have the tooltable set to Front if that is what you are using as if its set to rear then it will not reverse on front arcs.

If that doesnt help attach your xml and let me know the settings you are using in the wizard.
Having said that I have not tried the wizard so maybe I better ;D

Ok had a look, seems to be the wizard is Rad mode, why anyone would prefer Rad mode is beyond me but seems big in the USA.

It does actually seem to work in Dia mode, must have just been a setting I had changed  from within the wizard didnt stick.
Anyway settings I have that are working are

Dia mode
Reversed Arcs in Front
Tool in table set to Front.

Mine is set exactly the same - however it will only output G03 code. It will not output G02.

very perplexing.

There is no option to reverse the cutting direction as I see.

It does output G3's, it should still be correct.
Please attach your xml and also what version of Mach are you using?
