Hello.
I have been running my cnc router with mach 3 for a few months now.
Recently I had to replace my computer and now it seems to work but
it dose not go home on m6 for tool change now.
Am I missing something in the software setup?
Any suggestions would be deeply apriciated .
Thnx

The only two things that I can think of that will send the axes to a defined position during a toolchange are the actual G Code or a custom M6 macro. If you had a custom macro then you will either have to rewrite that macro or if you have the old computer you may be able to grab it from it.

DBLC,
- Have a look at the programs gcode and see what instructions were given before and after a call for a tool change.
- Then have a read of the Mach Manual relative to configuration . There are three choices Config>General Logic
Configuration.....top left of flyout........ Tool Change.
I will add that you don't need to be a programing wiz, but, one needs to understand the gode instructions given as they relate to ones machines configuration and setup for a job.
Otherwise............ your just driving the car in the dark with no headlights on!

I never had a custom macro. The machine always went home on m6 for start and tool change.
I did however go from older to newer software. Maybe something is missing in the new one????
Thnx for the help.

Thnx for the help.
But I found it .
Macro was not in the folder. It was out for a joyride I guess. Put it back in the folder and
all is good.
