Title: Video window?
Post by: oldiron on January 01, 2014, 04:14:32 PM
Thanks to the help I got here my new installation is coming together so now it's time to add some bells and whistles. :) I've got a system running Windows 7, an eithernet SS and Mach3 version 3.043.062. Ive got a video camera from cnc4pc that I'm tring to get working. I keep seing references to a video screen in mach3 on the forum but I can't find it. :-[ I tried the cameraplugin from K.Dietz but it can't load the camera driver? Does mach3 come with a built in video screen ??? or is there another one I can try? Bob

Go to Plugin Control menu and you should see the Video there.

That's what I thought but It's not there. Is there an optional install I have to do or can I get it from somewhere else?

Ok it should be enabled by default but if its not then go to Config menu then Config Plugins and enable it, you should see it in the list.. You will then need to restart Mach.

Should be there, have attached it though, just unzip to the plugins folder then start Mach and it should be in the list.

Put the file in the folder and it opened up fine. Unfortunately this plugin can't find the camera either!  :( Any more ideas? A different camera driver perhaps? How do the plugins "find" the camera, is there some way to redirect it?

Sorry been a long time since I tested the video camera out, maybe 6 or 7 years.
I seem to recall some had luck pressing Stop Camera then pressing Start Camera.

Also been a long time here and I am using XP. I do remember that some web cameras didn't work with Deitz or Baker plug in.
I will only guess that it's a W7 problem as i can't be of help on that.

OK, I can get it to work once, but only once by deleting the camera driver and reinstalling it.  ??? If you shut the camera off and try to restart it you get a window to select the camera, it shows up as USB 2 Camera but it will not connect. If you delete the driver and start again it works one time again. Any wore ideas for a more permanent fix? Bob
