Title: Mach and Lathe
Post by: Maxmekker on December 30, 2013, 05:15:21 PM
Will Mach ever support a lathe fully wit G95+G96 and full tool compensation?
Mach3 is doing a poor job so far in my opinion, on a mill it is doing a good job.

Nope, afraid not. I know Brian and Graham are messing around with Turn at this time (see FPR vid posted below) but when it will be out I dont know.

Regarding Linux, I have never used it but from info I have had from people who have, it does some things that Mach doesnt and doesnt do some things that Mach does, suppose it will just be a case of try and see if it does what you need.

I buy a new license on Mach4 if it can do lathe, Mach3 is better than Linux on milling is my experience. And much easier to config, and I hate to write a new PostProseccor to SolidWorks for Linux.
If they need a beta tester for Mach4 I would love to bee a tester.

These parts are made with G95+G96, G42 I had to remove because Mach3 can't handle it  :-\

Here is a video from my lathe, material is 316L, video is speeded up a little.

Second video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OGzKa8wmIc&feature=c4-overview&list=UUxuTG_uzo91tr4vkt77rXvw) is 6083 aluminum.

Picture is my lathe.

Looks like you have the lathe working relatively well :)

For Mach4 and CSS here is a video showing it being tested out on a mill
