Hello folks, I have recently acquired an EMCO 220 lathe. I have an EMCO 120p that is running under Mach, but, the 120 does not have a parts catcher like the 220. My question is ...what would be the best way to "code" the catcher to work when a part is ready to be caught ?????? If a macro would work, how would I write it to open the "catcher" during a cutoff procedure ????
thanks

You would do this via a macro and a Mcode call from your G Code. You would normally have the M Code just prior to the parting off call.

Thank you, Hood. I kinda thought it would be that. What i'll probably do is, during the cut off procedure have the cutoff move stop just before the part is cut completely, insert the M code(opens the tray)....then finish the cut and then another M code to close the tray....don't want to many chips in the tray :)
