Hi dear friends, i bought tachus42 driver board months ago and it works with motors in mach3 but it burned after short period, and i replaced it with another one also tachus42 but from another local seller , but this time it doesn't works however i tried the xml file from the official website of Tachus42 , the seller supply the setting file for Kcam , i tried it and it works in kcam4 - the pins in kcam same as mach3 xml files from Driver website.
i attached the ports and pins in my pc and both of the software

the xml files is downloaded from their website and it should work and already worked before with my old driver
i forgot to thank you for your time :) and hope to help me , i need to work with Mach3 not other software

i don't know y the xml file size increased from 40 kb to 98 kb , and i didn't edit it, or added anything to mach3

I dont see any reason it would not work as the motor pins are the same in that xml as the screenshots of KCam.
You do not have Sherline mode enabled in that xml however but maybe you changed it back?
When you changed to Sherline mode did you restart Mach?

yes, i restart mach after enable Sherline mode , and yes i get it back to normal when no change,
i notice something unusual when testing again , it sometime give pulse , this mean the motor just rotate less than 1 degree " very short move " then nothing ... this happen some time when click right then left in keypad for moving x axis . then nothing work ....

That almost sounds like your Step and Dir pins are reversed.
One thing however I did notice is your motor tuning seems to be way out. You have 200 steps per unit and you are running Inch units. I would expect a lot more for that, probably 20,000 but that will depend on microstepping, gearing and screw pitch.

If you go to the Diagnostics screen do you see a frequency and a Time in Int?

That looks reasonable, one thing however that looks strange is the Port 1 Current state, I would have expected some to be green. Are you sure you have the correct port address selected?

Dont have an answer for you I am afraid, if everything is set correctly and the driver would seem to be loaded and working then it should work.

i found this topic, and downloaded the xml file attached their and in Diagonisitc Tab i got 5 pins Green .
i tried to figure the same pins and dir inside it, but the motor with no action ,
i tried to re-install Xp sp3 again , but no change ...
i use Dell Latitude E5400 laptop and bought " legacy Extender " to get parallel port and it worked before good with Mach3 with previous board .
i will try later with PC and see what the problem ,
it make me angry it works well with kcam till now ... :( so it's not port problem ...

Edit : i tried the same xml file at another PC , worked before with previouse driver in the same pc with the same xml file , still nothing .. and the Diagnostic screen still without any green pins ....

The diagnostics screen may be a red herring, it is something I usually ignore as no one really knows what they correspond to, however I dont think I have ever seen them all out and that is why I mentioned it.
Can you test direct at the port with a volt meter or a scope to see if you are getting outputs when you jog one way or the other. You should get 0v to 5v when you jog back and forth.

2 times tested without any software opened
1 Mach3 idle (no G-code)

1 Kcam idle - (without any G-code)

I am not sure about the results, can you concentrate on just pins 2 and 3 with both Mach and KCam doing a jog.
From the above it looks like you may have the step and dir pins reversed for Mach.

Swap the pins in Mach for the X axis Step and Dir and see if the X works.

i tested again pin2 in right and left dir
in the right give me 3.45 v on the left get 0.05

Ok so it does seem to be working if the voltages are correct on Pin 2 and the voltage on Pin 3 is also changing from 0.5 to 3.44v.
Could it be you have the Velocity far too high and thus the motor instantly stalls? Does it make any noise when you try to jog?

it make some thing strange only Hood,
when swap pin 2 , 3
and move right , then quickly move left (with keyboard arrow ) the motor move something like 2 degree ..
then wait some seconds and try again , it move another degree ( just move some right ,, then some left quickly ) or vise
Just need to change the direction very quickly and the motor Jog for 1 sec >>>>
tried and changed everything in motor tuning ........

It sounds like the axis is stalling, try setting a very low acceleration and velocity, also put it into Sherline mode just in case the driver needs a wide pulse.

tried everything ... no hope to work with Mach3 :( i don't need to work with kcam
