I am interested in putting homing switches on my mill but I do not have a clue on what to look for. Can someone make some suggetions on what to buy so I don't end up having to throw the first set out because I didn't buy the right type, style or quality.
I have a grizzly mini mill using a KDN controller http://www.kdntool.com/_sgg/m4m2_1.htm
Thanks.

Hey Dan,
I use proximity switches. They have no contact. Nothing touches them. They are very accurate, and if you run the same material most of the time, you can get them that only sense certain material. I have mine covered but those chips have a way of getting everywhere.

Here is a link. Not saying that any of these are the ones for you, just giving you ideas.

Now with homing switches you only put one on per axis, correct?

I used two for each axis, one doubles as a homing and limit, the other is only a limit. You can use one for each axis though. That would save a few bucks and save IO. In fact, I think you can have one switch for each axis, wire them in series, and only use one input pin for all of them.

Can you do me a favor and whenever you have a chance can you take a photo of your homing switch setup?
Thanks
Dan.
