Title: Newcomer question soft limits
Post by: mikeboy on November 12, 2013, 06:41:12 PM
I cant seem to get my soft limits to work. I have entered all of the values in config as per instructions.
When I press software limits button, I get something like " Work outside limits " - can anyone help please?
Thanks.

You prolly need to run the "Ref All Home" first.  Soft limits is for limiting the Machine Coordinates.

Reply for further help.

Many thanks Bodini.

I normally do a Ref All Home before anything else. I tried it again, but no joy. The full error message is:
"Machine out of limits for SoftLimit Activation.

I have in config (all mm)

X max 90, min 0, slow zone 1, %20
Y same as above
Z max -50, min 0 slow zone -1, %20

Thanks again for your help.

Z max -50, min 0 slow zone -1, %20

try this:

Z max 0, min -50 slow zone -1, %20

Make sure your machine coordinates are between 0 and -50 when you try to enable soft limits.

Do you have limit or homing switches? Or are you "reffing all" with the table in a certain position? If the latter, is your machine running positive in direction from the ref point on X & Y? (Except Z whereas negative is a cutting move)

When you get the softlimit error, clcik the machine coordinates button ans tell us what the machine coordinates are.
