Title: New to CNC Setting up today Y axis question
Post by: Lloyd on November 06, 2013, 05:33:00 PM
CNC set up and jogging great on X & Z axis.    Y axis  jogs just a few inches then stops and red light comes on the driver.  I am running 2 stepper motors on the Y axis with a G540 Gecko Driver.  When I turn the power supply off and back on again-Y axis jogs a few inches and stops again with the red light.  Can you point me in the right direction on what I should checking?  Thanks!

Sounds like your Gecko is faulting for some reason. I am not familiar with the G540 but maybe an email to Gecko would shed some light on the problem, assuming of course there is no info in the G540 manual as to what the LED represents and the causes.
