I can tell you what I have  used with no problems, they are older technology so might not help :(
Anyway, I have  used AMD Socket A CPUs, mainly 2500+ mobiles as I have a few left over from my overclocking escapades ;).
The chipsets I have used are nForce2 and Via KT333. Did have bad experience with a Via KM400 chipset mobo, had to do the optimisation to get the drivetest even looking half decent. It could have been that the KM has onboard graphics but then again so does one of the nForce2 mobos I have and its drivetest is clean. It might even be that it was a FIC mobo, never been keen on them ;)
As I said probably not much help but just thought I would say just in case you have access to some older technology  mobos/CPUs.
