Title: Cannot move Z negative
Post by: gallenat0r on October 27, 2013, 10:41:35 AM
Hello,

I've been trying to mill a pcb today and ended up with some imperial (G20) gcode.
Now I cannot move the Z-axis in the negative direction anymore.  ???

My MPG only reacts to Z-positive.
If I enter in MDI, say G0Z-1, the machine goes into e-stop with the message "Limit Switch Triggered"

The only switches I have on the machine is reference switches of which the Z is also ignored.
Can't say about the others as Z is the first one being referenced.

I've attached my XML for the machine.

Thanks in advance!

Are you using one of the latest plugins?
If I recall there are options in there for smart limits or something like that, could be the problem.
Also have you hmed the machine?

I'm using V2.040 but it works fine if I start on a new configuration.
Just don't know where to look in the old config to spot the problem though.

The signal from the Z home switch is ignored in the homing cycle (ref all home) so I press E-Stop as the Z axis is at it's end and making noise.

Ok that is likely why you can only move Z one direction as it is not homed in Z.
So first thing to do is press the home switch and see if the LED corresponding to that input lights up on the IP-S, if it does then make sure its the correct one that you have set up. If it doesnt then check your wiring.
