Title: TB 6560 BOB LIMIT SWICH CONNECTIONS
Post by: GRAYHIL on September 22, 2013, 03:15:38 PM
Hi ALL
I am not an electronic engineer but how do you connect the limit switch wires to the male receptical 10 mm x 3 mm with
5 small pins sticking up inside on the above BOB
I presume you need a female pug to connect it but despite extensive search's for one I canot find one in GB

Hi Graham,

Can you post a link to, or information on, the TB6560 board you have (there seems to be many different types).

Graham,

Perhaps the MOBO header cables - something like this will do the job ?  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/StarTech-18-Internal-5-Pin-USB-IDC-Motherboard-Header-Cable-M-F-USBINT5PINMF-/350801109816?pt=UK_Computing_USB_Cables&hash=item51ad602338

Just a thought
If I connect a momentary switch between the normally open and common on a limit switch so that when it trips from the normally closed position I can press it and press jog together to get off the stop?

Hi Graham,

Not sure if that would work or not (never tried it).

I would think the best option would be to enable Auto Limit Override (Settings page). Tick this and it will allow you to jog off the stops (assuming you move in the correct direction ).  ;)

On a previous post of mine ref "limit switch" Ger21 said
"Mach3 won't move off a limit switch. You need to do that manually."
So if all I have to do is change some settings thats a lot easier.
Thanks Graham

Hi Graham,

Gerry is quite correct, once tripped it will not move under GCode control it will only move off the switch when jogging manually (keyboard etc.).
