I'm having an issue when creating a rough bore toolpath. The geometry is selected 3" deep into the bore but the toolpath will only calculate to 2" deep. Any ideas?
Thanks

I think that is a BOB CAD/CAM problem.

:( Bummer. It's frustrating because the finish pass toolpath computes all the way to my desired 3" but the rough does not. And I'm using the rough/finish cut selection which uses the same selected geometry. Maybe I'm switching back to FeatureCam? Is there a recommend CAM program besides FC and BobCAD which is good for ID radius work? I'm cutting the inside radius of turbo compressor housings...

You may want to ask BOBCAD WHY it does it. It should NOT.

I sounds as if the tool definition in BOBCAM has a max length of 2"

Yes, I thought of that. However I couldn't find the offset value. I see the offset register selection. Maybe it's just user error. Do you know where I can adjust tool length offset? Thanks
PS: I got everything running and working great using FeatureCam. Once you go through the learning curve with FC, it works very well IMO.

Will BobCAD not be of help for you?

Can you define your Tool Holder/Arbour combination to effectively extend the length of the tool and still give appropriate holder/arbour geometry at the top?
I know it's a common workaround when using T-Slot cutters to undercut to define them as a disc cutter on a long holder,

Nick
Edit - I've just defined a 1/2" tool with 1/2" holder and 1/2" arbour with overall length of 5" so this looks like a possible workaround ;-)
