Title: Mach3 turn; jog third axis
Post by: jimglass on June 20, 2013, 11:00:53 AM
My Mach3 turn only lists the X and Z axis when in JOG mode and no Y or A axis.

I would like to get an A axis to JOG when in Mach3 turn.    How do I do this.

Thanks,
Jim Glass

You would need to modify the screenset to add the DROs and buttons.

Ok, how do I go about doing that? ???    Never did anything like that before.    Just point me in the right direction and I can probably figure it out.

You will need to use one of the screen designers available for Mach, I use Screen4 but others seem to prefer MachScreen. You should be able to find them both on the Mach downloads page.
Adding DROs in Screen4 is simple enough, just click on the icon for DRO on left pane then click on the screen where you roughly want it. Then it is important to click the None Icon or you may inadvertantly add more DROs.
Once you have your DRO on screen then you can double click it and you will then be able to choose its function from the drop down box or alternatively you could add the oem code for it which you will find in the list in the sticky at the top of the forum or on the wiki.

Adding jog buttons is a similar procedure.

Once you have done what you want then save as and call it something unique, that way if you upgrade Mach it will not get overwritten. Lastly load your altered screenset from within Mach from the View menu.

Have a look at this screen set as the work is already done along with numerous other changes that I think you will find easier and better to sue than the standard lathe screen.

Hy,
I have a question/problem. I started to use Mach 3 turn for my turn machine.
When I use manual joging on X axis just on a  determinated distance moves the cutting head. When i push the arrows, left or right the head is moving in diferent direction , even if i push in the appropriate direction.
    What you think about this???
Please help me!!!!
