Post by: Hockeyguy01 on June 19, 2013, 09:05:48 PM
I have purchased the newfangled wizard and have it installed in the shop and is working great. How or can I use this on my laptop to create g code and transfer the file to she shop? I understand that I cant see it the g code on the laptop but I would like to save sometime and do what i can in my basement and taking it out later.

Thanks

On the machine that has a license you can generate gcode.

On any other machine you can run in demo mode. In demo mode you can build a complete job, then save the job file. Take the job file to the machine with the license, open the job file and generate the gcode.

Over the winter when it was too cold to be 'standing around' making code, I found the easiest way to do it was to come up stairs where it was nice and warm.  I'd work on my "main" machine, and simply save all my work to my Google drive (stuffed all the CNC files into a folder on it).  Went to the shop, where the mill was looking at the same Google drive.

No muss, no fuss as the saying goes!  :)
