I have a machine which has three stepper motors.
These motors are connected to a Xylotex v3.0 board, a stepper motor drive board. (their site is not updated : http://www.xylotex.com/3axBoard.htm )
Basically, this board takes in parallel inputs(through parallel port) from the PC and drives the three stepper motors.
It was perfectly configured for Mach3 and I was using a Windows XP machine.
Now I am planning to use a Windows7 64bit machine and I have been going through the posts involving 'Mach3 & Windows7 64 bit'.
People suggested Smooth stepper as a solution.
My question is this :
Can I just connect the parallel outputs from the Smooth Stepper to my Xylotex board ? ( i.e., Will the Smooth Stepper work as a simple USB to Parallel converter or should I have to do any interfacing circuit ?)
TIA,
Harish

Hi Harish,
Yes, It is a straightforward connection and no additional interfacing should be required.
There is some setting-up to do in the SS config. but that is fully explained in their documentation. http://warp9td.com/index.php/documentation
