Title: Flame cutter won't jog.
Post by: scrambled on May 19, 2013, 04:27:02 PM
My flame cutter has been working great for the last year.   I have not done anything to it besides use it.   It is not connected to the Internet, and I have not upgraded either Mach or sheetcam in a year or so.

Yesterday I powered everything up, and tried to jog the cutter.   It will not move in high speed.

I reset the DROs and moved the head.  According a tape measure it is moving the correct distance.

Where should I start looking?

Thanks

Steve

Not really sure what you are meaning, if it jogs but at a slow rate try holding the shift key down then press the jog arrow obn your keyboard. If that fixes it then you have a slow jog% set on the Tab page.

Hood.  It will only move at one speed-  very slow.   The shift key does not make it go into a higher speed.

It did jog in two speeds.  Very slow, and about a 20 % speed

Steve,

It's a long shot but assuming you are using 'normally closed contact' limit switches then check that there is not a wire off (disconnected) or that one of the switches is not stuck open circuit.

Thanks everyone.   I hate to admit it, but I was a victim of a set of bad batteries in my wireless keyboard.  :(

The keyboard was working, just not all the way.

I changed the batteries, and I cut steel all day today.

Thanks for all the advice and help
