Hello
http://www.surpluseq.com/newport-z047a-utm50cc1hl-linear-translation-stage/
I have this motorised stage, can it be run from Mach3 ?

The proper question would be what drives do I need to run these motors and have Mach 3 control it. If the motors are dc servos then something like the Gecko drive G320x would work.

I have similar tables / stages used for my engraving machine. They had steppers and work great, but , so as posted need to find out what
kind of motor's your's have. You may be speed limited due to the tables gearing and axis screw. IE; Mine are limited to about 4 IPM, but, that was not a concern for me as I was after extreme accuracy ( I can't measure the inaccuracy on mine ).

thank you, it is Sanyo DC servo motor 22w, 48 V, 0.85A, I guess no use to run from Mach 3, as far as I understand match3 is to run stepping motors?

Kevin, if you use a step and direction servo drive(Gecko G320X) you can run them from Mach3 via the PPort or other motion control device. If you have an analog input drive you can still run it from Mach3 but you will need different hardware.

will have a go at it, thank you
