Title: swap axis over in mach3?
Post by: m9g on April 22, 2013, 04:11:09 PM
Hi

I have bought an engraver and to me the X and Y axis are around the wrong way, they are setup as the manufacturer says with the long edge of the bed being Y and the short edge being X.

If I go into mach3 config and change the pins for X and Y will this swap them over? This would really help as the cnc's I have ever run have always been setup this way.

Regards

Yes that should be fine, normally the X axis runs parallel to where the user stands at the control panel.

Ok thanks, will try tomorrow, it would be nice to have the axis running the same as the one I run all day, starts messing with my brain after running a big cnc for 8 hours then coming home and my engraver is all back to front.

I've never come across a cnc running Y on the longer axis.

Cheers
