Title: YADRO DRO Input Plugin
Post by: laserted on February 10, 2007, 06:34:01 PM
Greets - has anyone been actively persuing a plugin that would allow a Yadro-compatible (or other equivalent DRO kit with linear glass or capacitive scales/calipers) attachment via a serial port? I recall a few posts a long while back that didn't materialize anywhere. While it would be great to have closed-loop capability (even if only on a correctional or slow feed basis), the manual DRO function would be it's greatest asset. I realize that, especially if dealing with a servo system, multiple error-correcting inputs would be a challenge for a typical driver, so full closed-loop affecting the core of Mach3 and it's pulsing engine while a servo drive and its shaft encoder are chugging along may not be available....

Cheers,

Ted.

I have new glass scales and dro with rs232 outputs on my Bridgport.  I want to upgrade this mill to Mach3 or 4, are there any gadgets out there to do this with?  I'd sure hate to toss a grand out the window.
